Nokian Tyres has opened an 830,000-square-foot production factory in Dayton, TN. Management expects the plant to make roughly 4 million tires annually — a mix of all-season and all-weather products — once production reaches full capacity. The factory is currently in the trial production stage. It’s expected to be ready to make tires for commercial use in early 2020.
The plant is a key part of management’s goal for Nokian to double its North American sales in five years. Its opening comes about a year after the company opened a new North American headquarters in Nashville.
