Cloyes is looking for an Assistant Category Manager – Aftermarket to join our Category Management team in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
In this role, you will support category growth across the North American automotive aftermarket by analyzing product performance, identifying trends, supporting pricing decisions, and helping execute sales and marketing strategies. This position will work closely with key national accounts, programmed groups, and internal teams across sales, marketing, engineering, operations, and supply chain.
The Assistant Category Manager will report to the Vice President of Category Management and play an important role in helping deliver value to customers through product assortment, merchandising, communication, and promotional support.
What You’ll Do
• Analyze product assortments, market positioning, customer needs, and category performance
• Identify opportunities for category growth, new product introductions, and SKU rationalization
• Support line reviews, customer assortment analysis, and promotional planning
• Evaluate customer inventory assortments to ensure the right products are in the right locations
• Partner with Supply Chain on demand analysis to help support strong service levels
• Gather and interpret data to support pricing decisions and category performance improvements
• Build and maintain pricing, inventory, and sales reports or dashboards
• Provide insights into customer behavior, product profitability, and market trends
• Research industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity
• Support new product launches through collaboration with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales teams
• Submit new part number announcements through customer portals
• Manage assigned customer communications related to category and product updates
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and VBA
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other data analysis tools
• Ability to translate data into clear insights, recommendations, and business actions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to present data-driven insights using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint
• Strong organization, planning, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
• Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the automotive industry
• Knowledge of the North American automotive aftermarket
• Experience with distribution channels, national accounts, or programmed groups
• Experience managing data in real-time or near real-time environments
