Groupe PSA Grows Its China Spare Parts Network

In an attempt to expand its spare parts business in the Chinese automotive market, the automaker Groupe PSA — which is comprised of the Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands — is acquiring a controlling interest in Longstar, a regional auto parts wholesaler based in the southeast China province of Fujian. With two master warehouses and 40 hubs, Longstar carries parts from 18 international suppliers and services roughly 4,000 independent repairers.

The move expands Groupe PSA’s geographical coverage, with the auto parts distributors Jian Xin based in the Shanghai area (acquired in 2018) and UAP in the eastern China providence of Shandong (acquired in late 2018).

Through its existing customer base, Longstar is expected to contribute to the expansion of the Euro Repar Car Service network in China, which currently has 480 locations.
