FullSpeed Buys Kwik Kar Brand

FullSpeed Automotive (Greenwood Village, CO) on July 5 announced the acquisition of the intellectual property of Kwik Industries Inc., including ownership of the Kwik Kar brand. The company also announced the purchase of a total of 25 Kwik Kar-related shops from local independent operators. This gives FullSpeed a total of 54 company-operated Kwik Kar-related locations.

As you may recall, FullSpeed in the summer of 2021 acquired 25 quick-lube and automotive service centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. That transaction included four different brands, the majority of which were Kwik Kar Automotive Lube & Service Centers.

According to Kevin Kormondy, CEO of FullSpeed, the company plans to further develop the Kwik Kar brand in addition to growing the number of units that it owns.

Kwik Kar specializes in full-service oil changes, scheduled maintenance, state inspections and other automotive repair services.

FullSpeed now has more than 740 franchised and company-owned shops doing business as Grease Monkey, SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service and Kwik Kar.

The company has acquired 40 shops across six states thus far in 2022. FullSpeed also has awarded 25 franchise agreements through the first half of the year.

Management’s goal remains to have 1,000 total units by the end of 2023.
