Event & Trade Show Briefs 4/18/19

• Attendees at the recent AASA Vision Conference had the opportunity to aid the University of the Aftermarket Foundation by grasping for cash in a “wind tunnel” booth at the event. The booth raised $750 in cash for the foundation, which AASA matched for a total donation of $1,500. This is part of the association’s annual donations to a fund established in 2018 in honor of retired MEMA President and CEO Steve Handschuh.

• The Auto Care Association’s Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) will host a regional meet-up event at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 29 at The American Social in Tampa in conjunction with the ACPN Knowledge Exchange Conference. • The 2019 SEMA Export Fair will take place July 23–24 at the SEMA Garage in Diamond Bar, CA. The program offers current exporters the opportunity to exchange best practices and discuss strategies for overcoming problems. • The SEMA Data Co-op (SDC) is offering $10,000 in marketing outreach to platinum-level SDC manufacturers exhibiting at the 2019 SEMA Show. For more information, visit semadatacoop.org/platinum-rewards.

• The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association has announced that National Tire Safety Week 2019 will take place May 20-27. The initiative is designed to educate motorists about tire care, safety and maintenance, including the potential dangers of unsafe used tires.
