AutoNation Inc. reported $1.26 billion in parts and service (after-sales) revenue for the second quarter of 2026 — an increase of 3.6% compared to a year ago. On a same-store basis, after-sales revenue grew by $33.40 million (or 2.8%), attributable to an …

• Increase in gross profit associated with customer-pay service of $11.60 million.
• Increase in gross profit associated with wholesale parts sales of $4.70 million.
• Decrease in gross profit associated with the preparation of vehicles for sale of $12.50 million.

According to management, customer-pay revenue and gross profit benefited from an increase in repair order volume tied, in part, to higher technician headcount. Meanwhile, wholesale parts revenue and gross profit grew primarily because of an increase in volume, driven by new commercial agreements.

Same-store gross margin declined from 49.2% to 47.9% on a year-over-year basis, mainly due to a shift in mix to wholesale parts sales, which have relatively lower margins.
