Monro Inc. has completed the previously reported sale of its wholesale tire and distribution assets to American Tire Distributors (ATD). The wholesale tire business, which operated as Tires Now, includes seven facilities in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee that serviced more than 3,500 wholesale customer locations annually. From now on, the Tires Now locations will operate exclusively under the ATD name and brand.
Monro also has entered into a supply relationship with ATD that will have ATD distribute tires directly to Monro’s more than 1,300 shops nationwide.
The moves allow Monro to focus its efforts on operating its repair shops while also gaining access to a broader range of tire brands and sizes because of ATD’s secondary supplier partnerships.
ATD is one of the largest independent suppliers of tires to the replacement tire market. It operates more than 130 distribution centers serving roughly 80,000 customers across the United States and Canada.
